Our Story

It's a long story

And another chapter is always being written

Fernhill wasn’t created overnight. It took a bit longer. Actually, it took about two centuries longer…

On and off, Fernhill’s land has belonged to the Reid family for over two hundred years. At the end of the 1970s, the entire family pitched in to open a small garden centre. Long before they qualified as horticulturalists, Austin and Eoin Reid, who now run Fernhill, were building (and rebuilding) its earliest walls.

Fast forward four decades and Fernhill is still evolving. In recent years, its covered areas have been expanded. Fernhill has become bigger and better – and, in doing so, has attracted even more devoted customers.

So what’s Fernhill’s secret? Sure, it has an incredible range of garden and outdoor living products. Yes, there’s the beautiful shop crammed with gorgeous gifts, homewares, art, candles and so much more. And then there’s the mouthwatering Savoury Fare restaurant.

But beyond all this, there are also Fernhill’s clear commitments…

To protect the environment. To support the local community. And to offer every customer expertise and advice on how to transform their indoor and outdoor spaces for the better.
